Lucy Folk Sydney Event

On Thursday 21st September Australian jeweler Lucy Folk presented her new collection of precious creations at MCM House in Rushcutters Bay – having first completely transformed the space into a full blown Mexican Hacienda, complete with three meter tall cacti, a ceiling covered in white paper flags and at the center of the room a giant light-bulb-covered gold taco shell, which guest walked through to get the first look at TAQUERIA, Folks collection of gold and silver precious jewellery, inspired by her trips to Mexico.

Guests (many of whom had flown in from Folk’s home town of Melbourne) included Camilla Freeman-Topper, Daimon Downey, Neale Whittaker, Stephen Pavlovic, Fernando Frisoni, Daniel Asksil, Charlie Hinkfuss, Fernanda Kajan (owner Assin, stocks the collection), model Tanya Gacic, Patrick Johnson, Jess Blanch, Julian Tobias and the Folk family, were treated to gourmet Mexican feast of fresh tostada’s, topped with prawn with mango salsa, rare seared tuna with green salsa and crema and Chipotle chicken with pico de gallo and Cholula hot sauce plus Soft shell taco filled with shredded chilli smoked chicken, tomato salsa, guacamole, crema and hot sauce while outside the party on  the pavement chefs cooked up “Street style” chargrilled corn with queso, chipotle mayonnaise & lime.

Waiters and bar men (all with Mexican moustaches hand drawn by Lucy herself ) served drinks from the bar – run buy Sydney Bartenders, who mixed the cocktails at Madonna’s 50th Birthday as well as servicing a number of events for Kate Moss – served El Capriccio Margarita’s, sangria and icy cold Corona’s to the crowd of Sydney’s leading names in design, fashion and art.
